| Box Calls
The boxes I make are "Cost" style hewn calls. The woods I usually use for these are
Yellow Poplar, Mahogany, Black Limba, and Butternut. I have 2 checking patterns that are
done by hand with chisel and mallet.
As with all my calls, if there's anything you don't like about a call, I will
replace, fix, or refund your money if sent back unaltered and undamaged.
AWARDS:
At my 1st callmaking competition I received 5th place (Honorable Mention) at the NWTF
Grand Nationals in Nashville, Tenn. in Feb. 2007 with a butternut and black walnut "hewn"
style call in the "Working Calls/Short Box" category.
4th and 5th places at the Jan. 2008 Midwest Nationals at Wisconsin Dells, Wisc. with a
mahogany/walnut call and a poplar/walnut call in the "Hunting Call/Short Box" category.
5th place medal at the Jan. 2009 NWTF Midwest Nationals held in Wisc. Dells, Wisc. with a tulip
poplar box/ yellowheart lid call in the "Hunting/Short Box" category.
2 Honorable Mentions for Hunting/One-sided boxcalls at the January 2010 Midwest Nationals in Dells,
Wisc. for a Bl. Limba/w Yellowheart lid and a Butternut/w Yellowheart lid.
